Jazz on J Street presents “Velocity”.

Saturday

November 16th

7:00PM-9:00PM

Immanuel Presbyterian Church

901 North J Street

Tacoma,WA 98403

Keyboardist Peter Adams’ Jazz ensemble “Velocity” plays Jazz Fusion. Jazz “Fusion” is electric Jazz that is a combination of Jazz, Funk and Rock. The music Velocity plays is very virtuosic and complex and uses a lot of odd time signatures but it also really “grooves”! Popular “fusion” bands from the past were Return to Forever, Weather Report, Mahavishnu Orchestra and The Headhunters. Jazz fusion is not to be confused with “Smooth Jazz”. Fusion is typically more aggressive than smooth Jazz. Velocity is a very popular local Jazz ensemble! This will be fun!

Earshot Jazz Golden Ear award nominees.

Personnel

Peter Adams-Keyboards

Cliff Colon- Saxophones

Mason Hargrove-Electric Guitar

Rob Hutchinson-Electric Bass

Brian Smith-Drums

The professional musicians are paid through your generous cash donations.

The “Jazz on J Street” series is sponsored by Ted Brown Music.
